International Day of the Danube

Another day, especially important for fishermen is the international Danube Day. It is without a doubt the most beautiful and the Greatest European river, in the basin of which 87 million people live. The Danube flows through the territory of 10 countries, including Ukraine.

On June 29, 1994, the ICPDR international commission signed the Convention on Environmental Protection in the Danube River Basin. And in 10 years, she, decided to approve the date of June 29, as an international Danube Day. In the same year, the convention was ratified by Ukraine.

At the moment this day is celebrated in many European countries, and this is especially noticeable in the cities on the banks of the Danube. And there are at least 149 of them, not counting the cities standing on the banks of numerous tributaries. On this day, there are fairs, competitions and conferences. Volunteers arrange a share of clean shore and spend holidays for children.

Do not forget to celebrate the International Danube Day on June 29th.
